The story begins in Spain, where a young Don Diego de la Vega has finished his studies away from home and joined a group of gypsies, falling madly in love with one of them, the beautiful Ines. However, the romantic, itinerant idyll is interrupted by the news of Diego's father's death in Los Angeles, his native home. And unfortunately, the bad news for him is not over: his brother Ramon has taken his father's place as Mayor of the city and is imposing his tyranny. That's why Diego decides to return home and don the mask and cape of Zorro, to finally bring justice back to his city!
